Job summary

Stafforce Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer to hire a Mechanical / Hydraulic / Pneumatic Fitter in Sheffield. The role offers £14.00 - £18.00 per hour DOE on a temporary to permanent basis.

You'll assemble, install and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems on commercial vehicles, read and interpret drawings and build specifications, fault-finding and repairs, and support refurbishment projects.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical/Hydraulic/Pneumatic fitter or equivalent.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team with good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems on commercial vehicles.
• Fit and repair components including pumps, valves, cylinders, pipework and associated equipment.
• Read and work from technical drawings, schematics and build specifications.
• Carry out fault-finding, diagnostics and repairs to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
• Support refurbishment projects and new vehicle builds.
• Maintain quality, safety and production standards at all times.

Temporary to Permanent Opportunity

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer who is looking to add an experienced Mechanical / Hydraulic / Pneumatic Fitter to their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a permanent position after a successful 12-week period.

Working Hours:

• Monday - Thursday: 7:30am - 4:00pm
• Friday: 7:30am - 3:00pm

The Role:

• Assemble, install and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems on commercial vehicles
• Fit and repair components including pumps, valves, cylinders, pipework and associated equipment
• Read and work from technical drawings, schematics and build specifications
• Carry out fault-finding, diagnostics and repairs to ensure equipment operates efficiently
• Support refurbishment projects and new vehicle builds
• Maintain quality, safety and production standards at all times

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience in a Mechanical, Hydraulic or Pneumatic Fitter role
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering schematics
• Experience using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Full UK Driving Licence required
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work as part of a team
