Role overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in Mechanical Handling, Remote Operations, or robotics. The successful candidate will work on complex design projects within the energy industry, potentially leading projects and mentoring junior engineers. Projects may include designing systems for radioactive waste packaging, fuel handling in nuclear reactors, or supporting renewable energy initiatives. The role involves deploying robotics solutions to enhance safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and substantiating mechanical handling or robotic systems.
• Preparing technical reports and specifications.
• Engaging with clients and understanding their needs.
• Working within regulated environments following QA processes.

Qualifications and experience:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant qualification.
• Experience with mechanical handling or robotic systems design.
• Strong technical report writing skills.
• Experience in regulated engineering environments.

Desirable skills:

• Nuclear industry experience.
• Knowledge of safety standards and design codes.
• CAD skills, especially Autodesk Inventor.
• Chartered status or nearing application.
