Job summary

Interaction Engineering is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Fitter / Steel Erector for site-based projects in the UK. The role focuses on mechanical installation and structural steelwork with strong teamwork and problem-solving on site.

You will work a 39-hour week with overtime paid at 1.5x, and there are 24 days holiday plus bank holidays. Refresher training and opportunities to develop skills are provided.

Qualifications

• Good mechanical and site installation knowledge.

• Valid B1 certificate – refresher training can be provided.
• Valid IPAF 3A & 3B dual category – refresher training can be provided.

Starting salary: £19.50–£21.50 per hour, depending on experience, skills and relevant qualifications

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Mechanical Fitter / Steel Erector to join our team. This is a hands‑on role involving mechanical installation, structural steelwork and site‑based projects.

We’re looking for someone with a strong mechanical and site installation background who takes pride in their work, can work effectively as part of a team and is confident solving problems on site.

Essential skills and qualifications

Applicants should have:

Desirable skills and experience

It would be advantageous if you also have:

• J3 certification
• Experience or familiarity with food factory processes and environments
• Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
• Flexibility and willingness to work away from home occasionally, typically for around one week at a time
