Mechanical Fitter required to work as a Space Thruster Test Technician supporting Hot Fire Space Propulsion Testing programmes. The successful candidate will work with Test Engineers on-site preparation, including propellant handling, propellant sampling, pressure control systems checks, mechanical and steam vacuum systems, instrumentation calibrations, and steam boiler operation. The role also involves the collation and review of test data.
Extensive work will be involved with high-pressure gas and fluidic systems, including interpretation and understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, as well as the use of electrical and electronic measurement and testing equipment.
You will be working with satellite flight hardware, preparing space flight engines for testing. This includes instrumentation installation on the test stand, removal post hot fire test, and subsequent engine decontamination activities, among other tasks.
