Job summary

EMR Group Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team in Hull. You will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing heavy plant machinery and processing equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation and minimal downtime.

Applicants should have a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent in mechanical engineering or plant maintenance, with the ability to read technical drawings and electrical schematics.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering or plant maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics; welding/fabrication experience is advantageous.
• Safety minded, proactive with good problem-solving skills; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs on heavy plant machinery and processing equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults with minimal downtime.
• Maintain and repair pumps, gearboxes, conveyors and hydraulic systems; ensure equipment reliability.
• Undertake welding and fabrication as required while meeting safety standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and work with site teams to improve equipment uptime.
