Mechanical Fitter – Field-Based (South West)

Mploy are working with a group of mechanical and fabrication experts who specialise in the fabrication and installation of mechanical handling systems and equipment for agricultural, industrial, and occasionally commercial sites across the South West.

We need a Mechanical Fitter to join their installation team. This is a field-based position, ideal for a candidate with mechanical assembly or installation experience, who enjoys hands-on work and working on varied sites.

What will you be doing?
• Install and assemble mechanical equipment on client sites (e.g. conveyors, augers, dryers, ducting, support structures, pipework)
• Carry out mechanical plant maintenance of previous installs
• Read and interpret mechanical layout drawings
• Carry out site-based fitting and minor fabrication tasks
• Work safely at height and in confined space, following health and safety procedures
• Liaise with clients and team members to ensure smooth project delivery

Candidate Requirements:
• Proven experience in mechanical fitting or installation (agricultural/industrial background beneficial)
• Ability to use hand and power tools confidently and safely
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all seasons
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work well as part of a team
