Salary: £40,018
Role Type: 14 months Fixed Term Contract
Hours: Monday – Friday, 06:00 – 14:30 (40 hours/week)

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Skilled Fitter / Electrician to join our Heavy Maintenance team in Crewe. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, overhaul, and modification of rail vehicles, ensuring they meet rigorous quality standards. You will work on fitting interiors, including floors, panelling, seating, and electrical installations, making this an ideal role for candidates with a solid foundation in mechanical or electrical fitting and experience with hand tools.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and fitting tasks, including installing floors, panelling, and other vehicle components.
  • Complete electrical installations, wiring harnesses, and modifications.
  • Operate rail vehicles within depot limits (training provided).
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, quality protocols, and environmental procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold a clean, safe work environment.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Previous experience in heavy maintenance or assembly, ideally in rail or a similar industry.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and basic electrical/mechanical fitting.
  • Ability to work from engineering drawings.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
  • Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) is essential.
