Carbon60 is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter for a well-known UK-based defence company.

Location: Bolton

Rate: £19.30 rising to £20.33

Duration: 12 months

This role is fully on site.

Full Role Responsibilities

The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for manufacturing and test tasks within the mechanical department, following product certification procedures, workmanship standards, budgets, and timescales to meet project objectives.

Specific Responsibilities Include
  • Certify the product according to certification procedures.
  • Maintain product certification and approval via audits.
  • Apply a versatile skill set across various tasks.
  • Be familiar with all manufacturing equipment, tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Ensure manufacturing build times are met.
  • Complete all paperwork related to manufacturing data packs.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with manufacturing procedures.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Keep good housekeeping practices.
  • Share best practices with team members.
  • Be a team player with customer focus.
  • Demonstrate planning, organizing skills, and flexibility.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Formal technical engineering or craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3, TR23, or TR21.
  • Further education certificate such as HNC or equivalent.
