Job description

adi Lean Manufacturing and Design Mechanical Fitter Apprentice

Location – Birmingham

Working alongside our skilled and experienced staff to gain the required skills, whilst working towards a nationally recognised Technical and National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) qualification. The adi Apprentice Academy provides a tailored development programme and network with other apprentices within the business.

All apprentices are offered a wide range of work place experience and our Apprentice Academy is designed to fully support the learner throughout the duration of the apprenticeship training programme to become a highly capable, skilled and valued member of our work force.

About the Role

You’ll work in a busy department and perform general workshop activities within the Lean Manufacturing and Design department.

Specifically, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Completing workshop activities inclusive of; fault finding and diagnosis & condition assessments.
  • Carrying out relevant planning and preparation activities before commencing the work activity and know how to interpret detailed drawings, specifications and job instructions.
  • Interpreting and following drawings/diagrams and/or specifications required for the assembly activity.
  • Preparing the work area for assembly task; sourcing required resources, tools/equipment.
  • Producing complex high value, low volume assemblies in full or part, using machines and equipment to meet the required specification.
  • Assembling components to produce equipment, machines and systems.

About you

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • A Grade 4 or above in both Maths and English GCSE’s.
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Ages 18+
  • Practical awareness skills
  • Are professional and detail-oriented
