A leading recycling facility in Widnes seeks a Mechanical Fitter to join their team. The role involves installing and maintaining plant equipment, ensuring safety, and supporting projects in a sustainable environment. Candidates should possess a CGLI or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering and have proven engineering experience. Shift: 4 on 4 off (days & nights), 12-hour shifts overtime as required

Company Overview:
A fully integrated recycling facility specialising in the processing of food waste to produce renewable biogas, electricity, heat, and a nutrient-rich fertiliser used by local agriculture. The site is dedicated to sustainability, safely diverting food waste from landfill and recovering packaging waste to offer an environmentally responsible waste management solution with growing projects have a requirement for a mechanical fitter to join the company.
Mechanical FitterResponsibilities:
• Install and maintain new and existing plant equipment
• Risk assess all tasks prior to starting work
• Complete maintenance logs, job sheets, and documentation
• Ensure high standards of work, maintaining a clean and safe environment
• Maintain plant efficiency to avoid production interruptions
• Support ad hoc maintenance projects as required
• Promote and adhere to all site Health & Safety regulations
• Report accidents, damage, and near misses to support the site’s safety culture
Previous Experience:
• CGLI or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
• Proven engineering experience (experience in Anaerobic Digestion preferred)
• Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset
• Flexible and adaptable approach to shift work
• Effective communicator at all levels
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
