A large ports operator in Southampton is seeking a Mechanical Technician to support maintenance operations. Our Southampton port is the largest export port in the UK providing a critical link to our goal of Keeping Britain Trading! Annually we handle 900,000 vehicles, accepting 2 million cruise passengers, and handle exports in excess of £40Bn through the 2nd largest container terminal in the UK. Our maintenance team plays a pivotal role in this delivering a busy schedule of Preventative and reactive maintenance.
We're currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Technician to join our team. You should have experience of working in the heavy industrial sector ideally in ports however knowledge of heavy motor driven hydraulic equipment is essential.
Working in a small team, youll report into the Team Leader and will support maintaining port side cranes, mobile structures and fixed infrastructure. Knowledge of fault finding, using a CMMS and maintaining equipment within a live environment is key. Your background should be predominantly mechanical but some exposure to industrial electrical would be highly beneficial.
