Job summary

Holcim UK is seeking a confident Mechanical Fitter at Torr Works, Shepton Mallet, to perform equipment maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns, and support site operations on a permanent basis.

You will carry out planned and urgent maintenance, respond quickly to downtime, keep areas safe and tidy, and help train colleagues while following safety guidelines and documenting work.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or similar qualification, with experience in welding, cutting, and fabrication.
• Ideally familiar with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Strong communicator and team player.

Responsibilities

• Tackling equipment maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and supporting site operations.
• Perform planned and urgent maintenance to keep things running smoothly.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Keep work areas organised, safe, and hazard-free.
• Help train other team members in maintenance tasks.
• Follow safety guidelines and complete required documentation.
