A leading manufacturing firm in Sheffield is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer. The role involves performing planned maintenance, installing new equipment, and ensuring safety protocols. Independent Forgings and Alloys Ltd (IFA) are continuing to invest and grow, and we are looking to add to our Engineering team. We are now looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer. Over the last few years, we have invested in the business and have successfully doubled our turnover. We are looking to continue this growth and are looking to for the right people to help us join our team. The role is working on a rotating 3 shift pattern Monday - Friday with overtime available.
We would like you to be an apprentice trained maintenance engineer who is mechanically bias. You must have experience in a heavy forge environment coupled with good working knowledge of hydraulics (ideally Oilgear Towler) and great mobile plant maintenance skills (manipulator, FLT and OHC).
Experience of break downs on presses, hammers, lathes and borers would also be beneficial, however not essential.
We manufacture high-integrity, open-die and closed-die forged components in nickel alloy, titanium, stainless steel and carbon alloys for customers and tier-one suppliers within the aerospace, nuclear, power generation, marine as well as oil and gas sector. We are unique due to the combination of open and closed-die forging while also undertaking the whole production process from raw material to the finished product in one location.
