Qualifications

Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Fitter

Location: NG14, Hoveringham

Working Hours: Days 06.00am-14.00pm / Afters 14.00pm-22.00pm / Nights 22.00pm-06.00am

Mechanical Maintenance fitter / Maintenance fitter / Mechanical Fitter / Hoveringham

Key Responsibilities of Mechanical Maintenance Fitter

  • Perform mechanical repairs independently and proactively.
  • Diagnose faults and conduct repairs, understanding system operations and components.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance and adhere to manufacturers' guidelines.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety.
  • Conduct equipment inspections in compliance with regulations.
  • Mechanical Maintenance Fitter should report mechanical defects promptly and ensure proper PPE usage.

Experience/knowledge requirements for the Mechanical Fitter role:

  • Time served qualification in a Mechanical Engineering discipline.
  • Guilds Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 / or equivalent.
  • Welding MIG and MMA, ideally BS 4872 or higher.
  • Hot works - Oxygen and Propane.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
  • Abrasive wheels.
  • Working at height (harness trained).
  • Workshop machinery competent.
