Job description

We are seeking a Mechanical Fitter for a permanent position in Nailsworth.

Location: Nailsworth

Hours: 08:00 – 16:30, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)

Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 per annum

Responsibilities include:

  • Completing engineering duties for sub-assembly production fitting and final assembly
  • Assembling mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic components and sub-assemblies
  • Assisting with fabrication and assembly of varied size and complexity from scratch, using skills like marking out, cutting, folding, pipe bending, welding, hydraulic and pneumatic runs
  • Adhering to Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Performing other duties reasonably expected by the company

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Solid engineering background
  • Experience working from manufacturing and sub-assembly drawings
  • Attention to detail and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools
  • Ability to check assemblies for alignment, dimensions, and quality
  • Experience in vehicle fabricating/fitting is advantageous
  • Ability to work independently with problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of circuitry in pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrics
  • Background in Aviation, Military, Marine, or similar fields is a plus
  • Basic electrical assembly and circuit reading skills are preferred but not essential

Work Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 08:00 - 16:30
