Job description

AJS Asset Care are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team at our London-based facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems within heavy industry, refineries, or FMCG environments. This is a hands-on role requiring a blend of planned and reactive maintenance skills, strong fault diagnosis capabilities, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Key Duties Include

  • Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical systems and machinery.
  • Perform fault diagnostics, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical failures with minimal supervision.
  • Support and contribute to a Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) approach.
  • Conduct precision maintenance, including precision shaft alignment, balancing, and equipment setup using industry-standard tools and methods.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with Health & Safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with other maintenance team members, production staff, and engineering teams to ensure equipment availability and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and system performance.
