About the Company:
Our client is a well-established engineering service provider that has been delivering high-quality mechanical repair solutions to the heavy industry sector for over 12 years. With a strong reputation across the Newcastle and Hunter regions, the business is continuing to grow and is now looking for passionate first-year apprentices to join their team.

About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a mechanically minded individual to kick-start a career in Mechanical Fitting. You will work under the guidance of experienced Tradespeople, gaining hands-on skills and knowledge with the aim of becoming Trade Qualified and progressing beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in overhauling longwall monorails, pump stations, and dump stations
• Replace bearings, air hoses, bolts, and other worn mechanical components
• Rebuild and repair hydraulic pumps, hoses, and other systems
• Support the servicing and repair of filter pump stations
• Clean, prepare, and maintain workshop tools and equipment
• Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Work safely and follow company WHS policies at all times

What We’re Looking For:

• A genuine interest in becoming a Mechanical Fitter
• Willingness to learn, take instruction, and get your hands dirty
• Basic computer and writing skills; good level of Math and English
• Driver’s Licence or Learner’s Permit (working towards Ps)
• Completion of Year 10 (minimum requirement)
• Ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol test prior to starting
• Punctual, reliable, and strong work ethic
