Scantec is recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter on a long-term nuclear decommissioning project based at Reading. The role focuses on dismantling and preparing redundant plant and equipment within a highly regulated nuclear environment.

The successful candidate will bring nuclear decommissioning experience, a valid CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and be willing to undergo SC and DV clearance. Reading site with site-specific safety protocols apply.

Formación

• Previous nuclear decommissioning experience is required.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification is required.
• SC Clearance and DV clearance are required.

Responsabilidades

• Involved in mechanical decommissioning and deplanting activities.
• Dismantle, remove and prepare redundant plant and equipment in a nuclear environment.
• Work within a highly regulated nuclear project environment and follow safety procedures.

Mechanical Fitter - AWE | CIS

Location: AWE, Reading

Start Date: 5th October

Duration: 6 months minimum, with potential to extend

Rate: £32.00/hr CIS - Local | £37.00/hr CIS - Travellers (50 mile radius)

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 10-hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid break

Paid Hours: 38 hours per week

The successful candidate will be involved in mechanical decommissioning and deplanting activities, including the dismantling, removal, and preparation of redundant plant and equipment within a highly regulated nuclear environment.

Requirements:

• Previous nuclear decommissioning experience
• CSCS Card or CCNSG Safety Passport
• NVQ Level 3 or relevant qualification
• SC Clearance
• Must be willing and able to undergo DV clearance
