Job Description: Mechanical Fitter at Waukesha Bearings Ltd.

Working for Waukesha Bearings Ltd. as a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for preparing, final dressing, and assembly of fluid-film bearings, adhering to strict quality standards and specifications.

You will work at our site in Polmadie, Glasgow, designing and manufacturing hydrodynamic fluid-film bearings, active magnetic bearing systems, and seals for high-performing turbomachinery and industrial rotating equipment, primarily for the oil & gas, power generation, marine, and industrial markets. We are part of Dover Precision Components, a Dover Corporation company.

Salary and Shift Pattern

Annual Salary: £44,919.62 (including 18% shift premium) plus productivity bonuses, pension, and life insurance. This is based on a rotating shift pattern of 2 weeks on early (6am) and 2 weeks on backshift (2pm).

Qualifications and Experience

• HNC, SVQ/NVQ level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, or completed mechanical apprenticeship
• At least 5 years of experience as an industrial mechanical fitter
• Ability to interpret metric and imperial engineering drawings
• Experience preparing machined components for assembly
• Experience working with hand tools, rotating equipment, air tools, gas torches, cranes, manual handling, and slinging
• Knowledge of precision machining processes is advantageous
