Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience maintaining and repairing special purpose plant machinery.
• Strong mechanical background capable of handling heavy part replacements.
• Industry experience from sectors like FMCG, Food, Metals, Recycling, Automation, Foundry, Brick, or Aerospace.

Responsibilities

• Respond to machinery breakdowns and carry out effective repairs.
• Maintain, repair, and install mechanical components.
• Support fabrication tasks including MIG welding.

Job Title: Mechanical Fitter
Location: Dudley
Shift: Week 1: 6am 3pm / Week 2: 9am 6pm (42.5 hours/week)
Salary: GBP38,000 GBP40,000 per annum

Company Overview:
A recently acquired and heavily invested site now operated by a well-known corporation. With over GBP200,000 invested into new control panels, a compactor, and a shredding machine, the company is focused on enhancing its facilities. They are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their team, with opportunities to develop electrical skills and gain formal qualifications.

Mechanical Fitter Responsibilities:
• Respond to machinery breakdowns and carry out effective repairs
• Maintain, repair and install mechanical components such as bearings, belts, chains, and straps
• Strip down machinery for refurbishment or relocation
• Support fabrication tasks including MIG welding
• Work closely with an electrically biased engineer
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations

Previous Experience:
• Minimum 3 years experience maintaining and repairing special purpose plant machinery
• Strong mechanical background, capable of handling heavy part replacements
• MIG welding experience desirable
• Industry experience from FMCG, Food, Metals, Recycling, Automation, Foundry, Brick, or Aerospace sectors
