Qualifications

Overview

Currently looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join a globally recognised engineering business, in Bristol, on a rolling contract basis. The role is based on a Monday to Friday day shift.

The Opportunity

The opportunity to join one of the biggest names in the engineering sectors in the UK, that is expanding their heavy maintenance function, with a main focus on the servicing, maintenance and repair of transportation vehicles, to accommodate a large increase of workload due to recent contract wins and legacy work.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out work to the company internal standards as requested by line managers.
  • Mechanical and electrical fitment activities onto rolling stock vehicles.
  • Ensuring all relevant paperwork for examinations and repairs is correctly completed to company standards.
  • Adhering to health & safety and local safety policy requirements, and other safety and technical standards.
Candidate Essentials
  • Must have experience working within a transportation engineering environment (Rail, Automotive, HGV, PSV, Aerospace, Plant).
  • Experience within either mechanical fitment or maintenance.
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings/schematics.
  • Competent in the use of hand-held tooling, power tools, and pneumatic tools.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
  • Full UK Drivers License
