Maintech Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Belt / Mechanical Fitter to join a field service team operating across the UK. You will install, maintain and repair conveyor belts at customer sites, travelling to sites nationwide as part of an experienced engineering team.

Full training is provided, with opportunities for junior engineers to develop in a specialist engineering sector. Expect a varied field-based role, with on-call work and clear career progression paths.

Qualifications

• Mechanical background with practical hands-on engineering skills.
• Level 2 mechanical qualification or equivalent.
• Experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar role.
• Willingness to travel nationwide and work on-site.
• Flexible hours and good communication with customers.
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out conveyor belt installation, maintenance and repair work on customer sites
• Support planned maintenance and breakdown activities
• Assist with mechanical fitting and installation projects across the UK
• Inspect equipment and identify wear, damage or potential failures
• Work safely and professionally on customer sites
• Complete job reports and site documentation
• Participate in the on-call rota for evenings and weekends

Location; Field Based Within 1 Hour of Corby

We are working with a well-established specialist engineering business that provides conveyor belting, mechanical maintenance and installation services to customers across a wide range of industries throughout the UK.

Due to continued growth, the business is looking to recruit a Belt / Mechanical Fitter to join its field service team. This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced Mechanical Fitter or a junior engineer looking to develop their career within a specialist engineering sector.

Full training will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for candidates from mechanical backgrounds such as vehicle mechanics, plant mechanics, maintenance engineers or mechanical fitters who are looking for a varied field-based role.

No two days are the same. You'll be travelling to customer sites across the UK carrying out conveyor belt fitting, mechanical maintenance, repairs and installations, working as part of a supportive and experienced engineering team.

Responsibilities of a Belt / Mechanical Fitter:

• Carry out conveyor belt installation, maintenance and repair work on customer sites

• Experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Engineer, Vehicle Technician, Car Mechanic, Plant Fitter or similar
• Willingness to travel and work nationwide
• Flexible approach to working hours
• Good communication and customer-facing skills
• Full UK Driving License essential

Benefits of a Belt / Mechanical Fitter:

• Working week - Monday - Friday 7am-4.30pm
• Basic salary of £32,000 - £38,000 pa with on-target earnings of £50,000 pa
• Paid overtime 1.5x
• Bonus for call outs with a minimum of 3 hours paid regardless of how long you are onsite.
