Overview

Metalis are currently supporting a well established company in Chesterfield who are looking for a Mechanical Fitter to join the team for the Temporary on going project with a view to go permanent next year.

Role Overview: This is a hands-on position suited to someone with a strong mechanical background, ideally with experience in mechanical fitting, fabrication, or general engineering. You'll be working in a supportive, skilled team assembling bespoke machinery using a range of hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fitting components and structures to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments accurately
  • Ensure proper alignment, fit, and finish of all fitted parts
  • Support fabrication and build processes as required
  • Perform quality checks to ensure assemblies meet required standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all health & safety procedures
Skills & Experience Required
  • Apprentice-trained or experienced in mechanical fitting
  • Confident in reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Skilled in using hand/power tools and various measuring equipment
  • Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
