Mechanical Fitter

An established and innovative manufacturer of bespoke machinery is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Technician to join their production team. This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role within a fast-paced engineering environment, ideal for someone who enjoys variety and technical challenges.

The Role

1. Assemble, test, and commission machinery ahead of pre-delivery factory acceptance tests
2. Mechanical fitting of custom-built machines
3. Interpret and work from engineering/technical drawings
4. Install and integrate components such as motors, gearboxes, belts, bearings, and pneumatic/automation systems
5. Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively
6. Maintain a strong understanding of health and safety procedures
7. Apply basic IT skills in daily operations
8. Support development and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
9. Contribute to team training and development efforts
10. Diagnose and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical faults in machinery (desirable)

The Candidate

1. Strong mechanical engineering background
2. Experience in machinery commissioning and bespoke machine assembly
3. Skilled in machining processes such as turning and milling
4. Desirable: Forklift driving certification and working at height experience
5. Bonus: Experience with PLCs and automation systems
