Job summary

Omega Resource Group is recruiting for a Mechanical Engineering Technician in the Nottingham area to join a modern, automated factory. If you are transitioning from military service (Army, Navy or RAF), this hands-on role will value your disciplined, mechanical mindset and practical skills.

You will service and repair production machinery, lead maintenance activities, and contribute to performance improvements.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / ONC / C&G in Mechanical Engineering (or Armed Forces trade equivalent: REME, RAF, or Royal Navy training).
• Strong fault‑finding and mechanical repair skills.
• Experience with pneumatics and fast‑moving machinery (advantageous but not essential).
• A proactive, team‑focused attitude with a hunger to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service, and repair production machinery including motors, gearboxes, high-speed packaging lines and conveyors.
• Conduct proactive and reactive mechanical fault finding.
• Lead planned and preventative maintenance activities.
• Drive equipment performance improvements in a world-class engineering setup.
• Bring a calm, focused, solutions-driven approach to a fast-paced environment.
