Mechanical Engineering Supervisor – Marble Arch
Location: Marble Arch
Salary: £48,000
Hours: Days Monday to Friday
One of the well-known companies in the FM and Maintenance industry is currently looking to recruit a key member of staff to add to their prestigious contract located in Marble Arch. They provide specialist support in the operation, maintenance, and repair of building services, excelling in maintaining technically demanding blue-chip and critical sites within London’s Square Mile and Central London.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within a high-profile commercial environment requiring critical and non-critical maintenance. Candidates must have a strong technical understanding and a proven track record in the commercial building services environment. Key responsibilities:
- Attend and complete reactive Mechanical and Plumbing works within their Service Level Agreements for Attendance, Response, and Completion.
- Maintain mechanical installations, repairs, and maintenance to M&E Plant and Building Fabric.
- Complete Planned Maintenance in line with SFG20 and HTM Guidelines.
- Perform proactive inspections, remedial repairs, and installations.
- Support the wider Engineering Team during emergencies.
- Provide cost information for chargeable Mechanical and Plumbing works.
- Update the Helpdesk System regularly to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct daily checks of plant rooms and equipment.
- Attend scheduled training sessions.
- Report hazards weekly.
- Participate in the on-call rota (1 in 4).
- Provide technical and operational support to the engineering team.
- Resolve escalations promptly.
- Ensure scheduled maintenance is completed on time.
- Keep compliance documents up-to-date and audit-ready.
- Manage client/end-user escalations and queries.
- Log, monitor, and manage PPE, tools, and hazards.
- Support outside normal hours when needed.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis.
- Facilitate subcontractor activities and ensure safety compliance.
- Complete work orders within SLAs.
- Perform daily plant walk rounds and maintain a tidy, safe environment.
- Record and address defects through the helpdesk.
- Review RAMS and subcontractor competencies.
- Report issues affecting health, safety, or security.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Participate in training and toolbox talks.
Person Specification/Requirements:
- Experience in Healthcare environment is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills.
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing/Heating or equivalent.
- Qualifications related to Steam and Pressure Systems are advantageous.
- Thorough knowledge of building services, especially A/C and BMS.
- Experience in fault finding with mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to fault find on Mechanical and Electrical Plant and Equipment.
- Knowledge of L8 Compliance.
- Flexible with a willingness to travel.
