Job summary

Babcock International Group's Cavendish Nuclear division is offering a Mechanical Engineering Placement Year to contribute to safe, secure, and sustainable nuclear solutions supporting the UK's clean energy future.

During the placement you’ll assist with design, assessment and delivery of mechanical systems across major programmes, while gaining insight into project delivery and how engineers support critical national infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Studying an engineering degree in Mechanical, Structural, Materials, Motorsport, Mechatronics or Engine Systems (accredited preferred).
• Programme requires BPSS and Security Check clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design, assessment and delivery of mechanical systems for major nuclear programmes.
• Support engineering calculations and review technical documentation.
• Contribute to safety case development and cross‑discipline teamwork.
