Macclesfield College's Macclesfield Campus is seeking a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering to deliver and assess practical engineering qualifications with a focus on workshop-based learning. The role involves teaching Level 1–3 Engineering programmes, developing materials, and supporting learners to achieve industry-ready skills through hands-on sessions in the workshop.

A Mechanical Engineering degree and teaching qualification are desirable, with relevant hands-on industry experience

• Plan teaching, learning and assessment for college programmes across levels

Responsibilities

• Plan teaching, learning and assessment for college programmes across a range of levels
• Deliver teaching with consistently good or outstanding standards to achieve high success rates
• Assess learners’ work formatively and summatively to ensure qualifications are achieved
• Comply with college quality assurance procedures and audits
• Liaise with external agencies, validating bodies, employers and placement providers
• Prepare suitable teaching materials and use varied learning methods
• Maintain an up-to-date syllabus and scheme of work for each course taught
