Mechanical Engineering Lecturer - West Midlands

Morgan Hunt is proud to be working with a leading Further Education college in the West Midlands to recruit a passionate and experienced Mechanical Engineering Lecturer for a full-time, permanent role.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified mechanical engineering professional to step into or continue their journey in education, helping to train and inspire the next generation of engineers.

The Role

As a Mechanical Engineering Lecturer, you'll be delivering and assessing a variety of engineering courses from Level 1 to Level 3. You'll be working with both 16-18-year-olds and adult learners across full-time study programmes and apprenticeship routes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality teaching in Mechanical Engineering
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback in line with awarding body requirements
  • Support learners in developing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, development, and ongoing improvement
  • Maintain accurate records of learner achievement and progression

What We're Looking For

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, DTLLS, Cert Ed, PGCE, or equivalent)
  • An assessing qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
  • A strong background in Mechanical Engineering (e.g. maintenance, design, manufacturing, or CAD)
  • Experience teaching or mentoring within an education or training setting (desirable)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
