Job description

Mechanical Fitter (FTC 16 Weeks, potential extension/permanent)
Location: North Kent
Day Rate: GBP250

Hours: Monday Friday 08 00 (37.5 hrs)

We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Fitter to join a globally renowned organisation. This is a 16-week fixed-term contract with the potential for extension or permanent employment. You ll play a key role in supporting world championship events infrastructure and equipment, ensuring vital systems are built, maintained, and ready to travel internationally.

The Role:

  • Bench fitting and assembly for technical support rigs and global infrastructure.
  • Accurate interpretation of engineering drawings.
  • Light machining using small lathes and milling machines.
  • Maintenance, modification, and repair of specialist equipment.
  • Hands-on contribution to the engineering workshop.
  • (Desirable) TIG welding in aluminium / FLT Counterbalance operation.
  • (Occasional) international travel to support equipment setup, repairs, and field operations

Candidate Profile:

  • Completed mechanical engineering apprenticeship OR 5+ years engineering experience.
  • Strong workshop skills with a proven ability to read and work from drawings.
  • Practical, hands-on problem solver with attention to detail.
  • (Desirable) TIG welding capability and/or FLT Counterbalance licence.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • Valid UK passport (small chance of international travel required).
