Position Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assist in analyzing customer requirements and decomposing them into functional system and sub-system design requirements.
  2. Collaborate with designers to create CAD design schemes, detail designs, and production technical data packs for military armoured vehicles.
  3. Deliver mechanical design solutions professionally, meeting time, cost, and quality milestones.
  4. Engage in activities across the engineering lifecycle, including feasibility studies, research, design, development, and post-design services.
  5. Ensure work complies with company, safety, environmental, contractual, and local standards and procedures.
  6. Draft, review, and edit technical reports and documents to communicate findings effectively.
  7. Prepare and submit technical proposals and tenders as directed.
  8. Maintain accurate design records in accordance with procedures.
  9. Liaise with MOD establishments, test facilities, subcontractors, and customers as needed.
  10. Supervise undergraduates or trainees when appropriate.
  11. Promote the department's capabilities to attract new work.
  12. Respond to new business requirements as directed by management.
Qualifications
  1. Degree or equivalent with significant engineering experience.
  2. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or working towards it.
  3. Ability to act as Design Authority for mechanical systems when authorized.
  4. Broad mechanical engineering competence supporting the full engineering lifecycle.
  5. Proficiency with Microsoft applications, CAD PLM tools like TeamCentre, and SAP data management.
