An established industry player is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Surveyor to conduct inspections and surveys on a variety of industrial and commercial machinery. This exciting role allows you to work from home while traveling to different sites across North Scotland. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with lifting and handling equipment, as well as an NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering. You will ensure that all equipment is safe and compliant with relevant legislation, making a significant impact on workplace safety and efficiency. Job description

Mechanical Engineer Surveyor / Inspection Engineer

Location: Home / Field based - You can live anywhere in North Scotland (Inverness, Wick, Orkney Islands, Lossiemouth, Thurso)

Salary: Circa £40,000 + car + pension + bonus + benefits + training

Hours: Mon - Fri daytime

Experience:
  1. Must have hands-on experience on:
  • Lifting & handling equipment & machinery, materials handling, mechanical handling, overhead cranes, etc.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering discipline
  • Ex Forces background can be ideal but not essential - Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers (REME), RAF, Army, Navy, Marine Engineer.
Duties:
  1. Homebased, carry out surveys and inspections on a wide range of industrial, commercial and manufacturing plant and machinery.
  2. Ensure equipment is safe and fit for use & complies with legislation (LOLER, PUWER, PSSR, COSHH).
  3. Write / complete reports.
  4. You will be assigned work / companies to visit in your region.
