Mechanical Engineer Surveyor / Inspection Engineer

Home / Field based You can live anywhere in North Scotland – Inverness, Wick, Orkney Islands, Lossiemouth, Thurso

Salary circa £40,000 + car + pension + 26 days holiday + bank holidays + benefits + training

Hours Mon – Fri daytime

Experience:

Must have hands-on experience with:

  • Lifting & handling equipment & machinery, materials handling, mechanical handling, overhead cranes, etc.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering discipline
  • You may be a maintenance or service engineer seeking a more ‘off the tools’ role.
  • Ex-forces background can be ideal but not essential - Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers (REME), RAF, Army, Navy, Marine Engineer.

Duties:

  • Home-based, carry out surveys and inspections on a wide range of industrial, commercial, and manufacturing plant and machinery.
  • Ensure equipment is safe, fit for use, and complies with legislation (LOLER, PUWER, PSSR, COSHH).
  • Write and complete reports.
  • You will be assigned varied and interesting work and companies to visit in your region but will have the freedom to plan and manage your own work.
