Job Title: Mechanical Engineer/ Supervisor - Focus on Preventative Maintenance

Location: Portbury, Bristol

Type: Full time, Permanent

Monday to Friday - DAYS ONLY

Hours: 7am-3:30 with a 2:30pm finish on Fridays

Salary: £51,000 per year

The Company:

My client, a multinational manufacturer in the FMCG industry, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer/ Supervisor for their Bristol site. They operate in countries worldwide on over 100 sites where they value teamwork and innovative approaches. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of machinery, contributing to projects and being involved in performing maintenance and reliability work.

Reporting to the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the completion of reactive and planned maintenance.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Looking at the short-term reliability issues of the plant.
  • Being involved and contributing to production and reliability meetings site wide.
  • Assisting the planning department by spotting, planning and implementing preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Assisting the team in repairing mechanical issues on-site.
  • Issuing work permits and dealing with contractors.
  • Track the budget for the department and operate inside of the budget.
  • Manage the day-to-day repairs and maintenance of plant machinery.
  • Organising shut downs.
  • Managing a team of mechanical engineers to complete reactive and preventative maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Apprenticeship/Time Served or NVQ Level 3 and above in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline
  • FMCG manufacturing industry experience
  • Experience managing people and co-ordinating preventative maintenance
  • Ability to be dynamic and flexible whilst working
  • Problem solving mindset.
