A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer to join a global leader in advanced subsea and offshore technology, based in North Yorkshire. This facility specialises in the design and manufacture of world-class Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), trenchers, and submarine rescue systems, delivering innovative solutions for demanding deep-water environments.

The Role:

You will provide engineering design and support for innovative subsea systems, producing high-quality specifications and documentation in line with ISO 9001 standards. Working closely with colleagues across engineering, production, logistics, and sales, you’ll contribute to product development, offer technical expertise, and ensure designs are fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide design input for mechanical systems and components
* Produce engineering designs, calculations, and technical documentation
* Support preparation of operating and maintenance manuals
* Provide technical support to production, logistics, and integration teams
* Assist in sales proposals and customer support
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
* Work to agreed timescales and budgets

About You:

* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
* Strong skills in structural analysis, tolerancing, assembly methods, and inspection/testin
* Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD (AutoCAD/DraftSight, SolidWorks)
* Sound understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills
* Ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team

* FEA using Ansys and/or SolidWorks Simulation
* Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and material science for subsea applications
* Experience with hydraulics, mechanisms, and sealing systems
* Hands-on engineering shop floor or offshore experience
