Mechanical Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer

As a Mechanical Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer in our 'Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology' (ADS&T) business, you will play an important role in delivering a variety of projects, from niche consultancy to large, high-profile programmes. Your contribution will impact national safeguarding efforts.

Your purpose:

As a Mechanical Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer within ADS&T, you will:

• Support or lead the creation of optimal design solutions to meet client requirements.
• Produce calculations to demonstrate design performance.
• Author and update technical documents.
• Manage project delivery against Time, Cost, and Quality targets.
• Support QA processes through review of colleagues’ work.
• Present work at formal client reviews.
• Work within project teams, including placements at client sites.

What you can bring:

• Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Chartership with a relevant engineering institution or progress towards it.
• Understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application.
• Experience in design lifecycle, including requirements capture, concept development, and down-selection.
• Familiarity with design codes and industry standards for safety-critical industries.
• Experience in producing design documentation, calculations, reports, and specifications. CAD experience is a plus.
• Experience presenting at formal design reviews.
• Teamwork experience in delivering mechanical projects, especially in nuclear or safety-critical industries.
