Job description

Our defence sector client is currently recruiting SC cleared Mechanical Engineers and SC Cleared Electrical Engineers for initial 6-month contracts.

The role will support the Surface Ships Domain.

The contracts offer a hybrid working arrangement of 2-3 days onsite per week in Bristol, with the remainder working from home.

KEY TASKS
  • Manage the delivery of all engineering aspects in the area of responsibility as defined in the assignment specification or objectives, including managing the acquisition safety aspects.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance in your technical area to solve complex problems and identify application risks.
  • Manage the technical requirements for the acquisition lifecycle stage of one or more projects, programmes, services, or systems.
  • Monitor and implement governance and assurance policies to ensure the 'safe & professional' status of the area led.
  • Lead the development of requirements related to your area of specialism, including acceptance plans, performance criteria, and draft specifications.
  • Interface with industry as the intelligent customer, both in a scrutiny role and supporting the identification of application risks.
  • Likely to hold Safety Responsibilities (SR).
EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Member of a relevant Professional Engineering/Science Institute or equivalent body.
  • Relevant Level 4 (or higher) qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of providing technical advice and leading the delivery of successful engineering outcomes.
  • Wide-ranging depth and breadth of technical experience in your specialism, with knowledge and application of Systems Engineering approaches.
