As a Mechanical Multi-Trade Heating Engineer with VIVO Defence Services, you'll be playing a key part in supporting RAF Fairford - a live operational base home to United States Visiting Forces personnel.

About the role:

Working in a team of 3 Mechanical Engineers, you will be ensuring oil and LPG heating systems are operating at peak performance, and be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance tasks of oil and gas boiler heating systems. You will receive your scheduled work tasks by tablet, and using your provided work van will travel to the appropriate area to undertake works.

You'll be responsible for keeping vital systems running smoothly, diagnosing faults, managing energy efficiency, and maintaining compliance with health and safety standards at all times. This role also involves collaborating with contractors and the wider team, ensuring high-quality service delivery that supports both infrastructure and the comfort of military personnel and their families. Flexibility is key here, as you'll also be part of an emergency call-out rota, stepping in when urgent issues arise.

What you will need:

For this role, you'll need a solid mechanical or engineering background, with a recognised apprenticeship or qualification such as HNC, ONC, or City & Guilds. Previous experience maintaining oil-fired boilers and working with commercial heating systems is essential, as is holding current Gas Safe certification. A strong understanding of oil and gas distribution, familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS), and knowledge of safety and compliance is highly desirable.

You must be able to SC Clearance to be considered for this role and have a full UK Drivers license.
