Job description

Mechanical Engineer - Pressure Systems - ROI

This is an exciting home-based opportunity for an experienced engineer with a good knowledge of the Pressure Mechanical discipline to join Allianz Engineering, a division of one of the largest insurers and financial services companies in the world. As an Engineer Surveyor, you will assess a wide range of installations in Ireland, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. You will work closely with your team and prepare electronic reports following inspections for fast and efficient delivery.

This role involves hands-on inspections of equipment such as air receivers, pressure vessels, steam boilers, heat exchangers, and safety devices. The role can be physically demanding, requiring working at heights, in confined spaces, and in various environmental conditions.

Salary Information

Starting salary: €61,500 per year, based on experience, skills, and location. This is part of a comprehensive reward package.

Location

Great Dublin, Leinster - Ireland, with occasional travel to Northern Ireland.

About You
  • Up-to-date knowledge of compliance and regulatory rules related to Pressure Mechanical discipline.
  • Decisive, responsible, and effective at planning and organization.
  • Ability to travel within your work area.
  • Efficient in documentation and administration.
  • Willing to support and deputize for colleagues as needed.
Essential Skills
  • Qualified or working towards a Mechanical Engineering qualification at level 4 (UK) or level 6 (Ireland).
  • Experience with steam generation, compressed air, and related plant, ideally with manufacturing, maintenance, or inspection background.
  • Strong communication skills, including customer interaction.
  • Valid Irish/EU/UK driving license.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Comfortable using tablets and smartphones for work.
Desirable Skills
  • Incorporated Engineer (desirable).
