EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR AN EXPERIENCED MECHANICAL ENGINEER - PLANT HIRE
REQUIRED TO JOIN AN ESTABLISHED PLANT HIRE COMPANY
Salary: £13.50 - £18.00 per hour DOE
Pension Scheme
23 days holiday + Bank Holidays, increasing with length of service up to 25 days + Bank Holidays
Location: Exeter, South West
Hours: 42.5 per week, with flexibility depending on site location or travel requirements
Overtime available: x1.5 for first four hours on Saturday, x2 thereafter, and x2 on Sundays and Bank Holidays
Client: Our client is well recognized within the plant hire industry, seeking an experienced workshop and mobile service and maintenance engineer to work on heavy plant and construction equipment.
Ideal candidates will have experience in plant fitting, mechanical engineering, plant service, repair, and maintenance. The role involves servicing and maintaining construction equipment, monitoring and replenishing lubricants and fluids, performing preventative maintenance, fault reporting, cleaning, inspecting, and preparing equipment for transfer or redeployment. Fitting replacement parts and collaborating on larger maintenance tasks are also required.
UK driving license is essential. The role is primarily based at the local workshop, with travel to different depots as needed.
A strong mechanical knowledge base is essential, along with understanding risk assessments and method statements. Experience with heavy plant, construction equipment, and hydraulic systems is required. An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in plant maintenance would be advantageous.
