Mechanical Engineer - Place Based Thinking (@one Alliance)

Location: Peterborough

Contract Type: Full Time Permanent

The Vacancy

Binnies, an RSK Group company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Place Based Thinking) to join our @one Alliance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the preparation and analysis of mechanical options, ensuring risks are mitigated and the Project Basis of Design is upheld.
  • Performing design calculations for mechanical, hydraulic, power generation, and building services equipment.
  • Liaising with the supply chain to assess and understand the latest technologies.
  • Collaborating on 3D models and solutions with the design team.
  • Overseeing outputs such as P&IDs, Data sheets, HAZID, HAZOP studies, and mechanical input into commissioning plans.
  • Supporting health & safety standards, ensuring safe designs compliant with CDM regulations.
  • Promoting digital, sustainability, innovation, and people objectives within projects.

Candidate Profile:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 8-10 years of practical experience in a similar environment.
  • Proven track record in designing hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of modular build, electrical control, instrumentation, and switchgear.
  • Strong teamwork, accountability, and safety awareness.
