About the role

We have a new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer or Senior to join our Property Services team based in Manchester or Leeds.

This role involves monitoring, optimizing, and creating value throughout building lifecycles, working across residential, commercial, and healthcare sectors. You will collaborate with specialists and be part of a knowledgeable, engaged team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with teams to deliver projects.
• Design, specify, and monitor sites.
• Oversee commissioning and post-occupancy activities.
• Write technical reports such as feasibility and condition surveys.
• Engage with clients and manage project aspects.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will lead and support projects mainly in the UK, with some overseas opportunities, managing small projects up to a few million pounds, and providing technical support to clients and management teams.

Our Property Services cover:

1. Technical Due Diligence – surveys and reports.
2. Plant Replacement – projects up to £3m, including design and project management.
3. Design – innovative solutions for existing buildings across all RIBA stages.
4. Maintenance / Operational – inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, energy optimization.
5. Sustainability and Energy Efficiency – projects to reduce energy use and carbon footprint.

Projects span sectors like commercial, retail, residential, education, healthcare, defense, heritage, industrial, and technology.

About you

To succeed, you should be:

• Chartered or working towards chartered status in design engineering.
• Experienced in refurbishments and fit-outs of existing buildings.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken).
• Familiar with performance specifications, contract administration, and site work.
• An all-rounder in Building Services engineering.
• Strong technical knowledge in primary discipline and good secondary discipline understanding.
• Comfortable with UK and EU regulations and design guides.
• Organized with good planning skills to meet deadlines.
