Mechanical Engineer Nuclear – Bristol

The role

We are looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Nuclear team in the South West. You will apply your technical knowledge and managerial skills to deliver innovative and cost-effective projects that meet our team requirements.

Responsibilities

Within this role, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Leading the mechanical design team as the primary designer.
  2. Coordinating with all stakeholders to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  3. Reviewing all designs and design changes.
  4. Advising stakeholders on project mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering systems.
  5. Executing technical reviews, addressing and resolving any issues.
  6. Leading CDM and design reviews and meetings.
  7. Ensuring compliance with nuclear safety and environmental protection requirements.
  8. Aligning departmental work with the project schedule.
Skills and experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in a relevant engineering discipline or related field.
  • Experience in nuclear or a similarly heavily regulated industry.
  • A good understanding of welding, fabrication, and materials.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills, with good knowledge of project scheduling.
