Job summary

SCINERGY Recruitment is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer for a brand-new Energy from Waste power station in Tilbury, Essex. You will lead the mechanical maintenance team, plan and coordinate maintenance, and support commissioning through to operation.

Ideal candidates have heavy process plant experience, a relevant mechanical qualification (HNC or equivalent), and strong knowledge of PUWER/Loler/PSSR. You will work closely with EC&I and Operations to maximise plant availability.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Mechanical Engineer or maintenance role in heavy process plants.
• HNC or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of PUWER, LOLER and PSSR.
• Experience using a CMMS to plan and track maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills across levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical maintenance function and supervise teams and contractors.
• Plan preventative and corrective maintenance across mechanical plant.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and coordinate repairs to minimise downtime.
• Manage maintenance during outages and plant shutdowns.
• Ensure CMMS is used and maintenance records are accurate.
• Manage workshops, stores and maintenance resources.
• Ensure safety via Permit to Work and Safe Systems of Work.
• Provide technical guidance and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with EC&I and Operations to maximise availability.
• Support health, safety, environmental and financial targets.
