RecXchange is seeking a Mobile Mechanical Fitter to service heavy industrial plant across multiple sites in the South West. Salary £40,000-£50,000 plus overtime, company van and pension. Role involves travel between sites in Bristol, Gloucestershire and Dorset, with long-term career prospects.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical maintenance, fault-finding skills, and experience with bearings, gearboxes, conveyors and pumps. A valid UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy industrial maintenance and fault finding across multiple sites.
• Hands-on work with bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps and motors.
• Welding and fabrication experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Travel between sites to perform planned and reactive maintenance to ensure reliability.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis.
• Replace bearings, gearboxes, motors and drive systems as needed.
• Maintain conveyors, pumps, screens, crushers and related plant.
• Support shutdowns and continuous improvement activities.
• Work safely following Health & Safety procedures.

Mobile Mechanical Fitter

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum + Overtime + Company Van + Pension + Holiday

Location: Covering sites across Bristol, Gloucestershire & Dorset

Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter looking for a varied mobile role supporting heavy industrial plant across multiple production sites?

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading materials manufacturer for a Mobile Mechanical Fitter to carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdowns and mechanical repairs across several operational sites in the South West.

The Role

Working as part of the engineering team, you will travel between sites carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure plant reliability and minimise downtime.

Typical duties will include:

• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Reactive breakdown diagnosis and repairs
• Mechanical fault finding
• Replacing bearings, gearboxes, motors and drive systems
• Maintenance of conveyors, pumps, screens, crushers and associated process plant
• Welding and fabrication repairs where required
• Plant inspections and condition monitoring
• Supporting shutdowns and continuous improvement activities
• Working safely in accordance with company Health & Safety procedures

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with experienced Mechanical Fitters or Mechanical Maintenance Engineers from heavy industrial environments, including:

• Water & Utilities
• Mining or other heavy engineering environments

You’ll ideally have experience with:

• Mechanical maintenance and fault finding
• Bearings, gearboxes and conveyors
• Pumps, motors and drive systems
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Welding and fabrication (advantageous)
• Working independently across multiple sites
• Full UK Driving Licence
