Job summary

Nicholas Associates is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for a Birmingham-based building services consultancy to design and specify mechanical systems for commercial, residential, healthcare and education projects.

You will produce calculations, reports and drawings, work with electrical engineers, attend client meetings and site visits, and help drive projects from concept through to completion while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Experience in an MEP Consultancy or Building Services environment.
• Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and British Standards.
• Experience using Hevacomp, IES, Revit, AutoCAD or similar.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Chartership is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and specification of mechanical building services systems (HVAC, heating, ventilation, domestic water, public health).
• Produce calculations, technical reports and design drawings.
• Work closely with electrical engineers and wider project teams.
• Attend client meetings and site visits where required.
• Support projects from concept through to completion and ensure on time delivery.
• Ensure designs comply with current regulations and industry standards.
