Job summary

Lutron Electronics Co., Inc. in Dunstable seeks a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the development of lighting products and to support across the full product development lifecycle.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Quality teams to deliver robust, cost-effective solutions. Ideal candidates bring degrees in mechanical engineering, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks or Creo) and a practical approach to DFMA and manufacturing processes, with a proactive mindset

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 2:1.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD such as SolidWorks or Creo.
• Strong knowledge of DFMA and design for manufacture.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components, assemblies, tools and fixtures for performance, reliability and manufacturability.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings and engineering documentation for new products and design changes.
• Apply sound mechanical engineering principles to develop robust and cost-effective product solutions.
• Support investigation, troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues across existing and new product ranges.
• Build and test prototypes to evaluate designs and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Apply DFMA principles throughout the development process.
• Support material selection, manufacturing process selection and tolerance definition.
• Ensure designs meet applicable standards, compliance requirements and regulatory guidelines.
• Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to develop and refine production-ready solutions.
• Support continuous improvement of existing products, manufacturing processes and engineering methods.
