Job summary

American Society of Civil Engineers seeks an Industrial Designer focused on lighting to bridge design and manufacturing. You will own products from concept handover through to production, ensuring compliance with IEC/UL standards and meeting delivery milestones.

Prototype, draw specs, coordinate with labs and factories, and manage the NPI timeline while collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to drive high quality, cost control and on-time launches.

Qualifications

• Two years or more as a product design or development engineer in a DFM environment.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and 3D modelling.
• Experience designing for processes such as extrusion, die casting, injection moulding.
• Understanding of product testing and why it matters.
• Creative engineering flair and a proactive approach to deadlines.
• Team player with strong communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering of your products from concept handover to tool proof sample approval.
• Create prototypes, 3D prints, drawings and specifications for quotation and manufacture.
• Liaise with external test labs for certification and with factories for sample evaluations.
• Manage the NPI timeline and coordinate reviews to meet seasonal launch dates.
• Collaborate with suppliers, packaging, quality and technical teams, with occasional overseas visits.
