Job description

Mechanical Engineer
We are happy to be recruiting for one of our large Clients based in the Stowmarket area. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer to support process operations within a manufacturing and filling environment.
This role involves planned maintenance, small projects, and reactive work within an industrial paint production facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, with electrical knowledge being advantageous. This is a full-time position requiring flexibility for overtime when necessary.
This role is ideal for a mechanically qualified professional looking to develop their career within a dynamic industrial setting. It would suit someone with experience in maintenance engineering, a proactive mindset, and a strong understanding of health and safety procedures. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential, along with strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support for planned maintenance and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Read and interpret engineering diagrams and drawings.
  • Maintain and repair mechanical equipment within the production facility.
  • Fault find and problem solve.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and legislation.
  • Have experience in LOTO (Lock out Tag out procedure).
  • Utilise CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) to track and manage maintenance activities.

Salary

  • £37,856 per annum (£18.20 hourly rate)
  • Overtime: R2 £27.30 per hour (x1.5 of basic hourly rate)
  • Overtime: R3 £36.40 per hour (x2 of basic hourly rate)
