Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer with an electrical bias to join a high-performing manufacturing team within a modern, fast-paced production environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and improving complex production machinery and systems to ensure consistent performance, efficiency, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Diagnose and repair faults on production machinery, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives within the manufacturing process.
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery upgrades.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to optimise equipment performance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and update relevant documentation.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety and quality standards.
Skills & Experience Required
- Time-served or qualified to at least HNC level in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Strong mechanical knowledge with proven experience in electrical fault-finding and repair.
- Experience in an automated, high-volume manufacturing or packaging environment.
- Good understanding of PLC systems, sensors, drives, and control systems (desirable).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, hands-on approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
